Jimmy Cobb Honored as a 'Paul Harris Fellow'
(Pictured above from left to right: Sammy Falletta - Club President, and Jimmy Cobb - Paul Harris Fellow)
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition was created in memory of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary as a way to show appreciation for contributions to the Foundation's charitable and educational program.
A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual who contributes $1,000 or in whose name that amount is contributed. Every Paul Harris Fellow receives a pin, medallion and a certificate when he or she becomes a Fellow. This identifies the Paul Harris Fellow as an advocate of the Foundation's goals of world peace and international understanding.
A sustaining member is an individual who contributes or in whose name is contributed a minimum of $100 with the commitment to contribute $1,000 within a ten-year period.
Congratulation Jimmy! You inspire us all to become a 'Paul Harris Fellow' and put service above self. Becomming a Paul Harris Fellow truly is "beneficial to all concerned". Thank you for your service and committment.

Guest Speaker, Author 'Donaly Brice'
Author Donaly Brice spoke at the Rotary Club of San Marcos meeting recently. His program covered “The Battle of Plum Creek in 1840: The Last Major Indian Raid in Central Texas.” This historic battle took place near the modern town of Lockhart. General Edward Burleson, a founding father of Texas and San Marcos, played a key role in the successful defense of what many consider the last great Indian attack. Brice’s book is entitled “The Great Comanche Raid: Boldest Indian Attack of the Texas Republic.” Donaly Brice works at the Texas State Library as a state archivist.
